Do you want to be on the National Theater’s main stage?
We are looking for twelve kids to play six characters in the show Draumaþjófurinn and encourage all kids who are interested to participate. The National Theater focuses on reflecting the diversity of society as best as possible. You are welcome to apply even though Icelandic is not your first language!
Watch the video below and get all the information Than you can record three short videos on the smart phone and send it to us. See red button!.
Send your audition no later than sunday Nov. 20.
And remember: The main thing is to have fun! It’s okay if you don’t get all the dance moves 100%, or don’t know the lyrics exactly. The interpretation and the joy of it are most important!
If, for some reason, you can’t perform the dance routine, perform the monologue or sing the song suggested here, you can choose your own material in your preferred language – as long as the recording is no more than one minute.
Have fun!

AH! Hvað var þetta? Ég verð að fela mig!
The adventure begins shortly
In the Dreamthief, Our hero, Eyrnastór Aðalbarn Gullfalleg Rottudís – or just Eyrdís – embarks on a journeyinto a colourful, exciting and extremely dangerous world like no other! Forced to seek courage within herself when her life changes in an instant.
In Hafnarland, everything is as it should be and the rats know their place in life: Collectors gather food, Spies spy, War rats keep enemies away and Eaters eat and have a good time. At the top of the ladder of respect stands Skögultönn, a commanding officer.
But the day Skögultönn’s daughter Eyrdís rebels, the story takes an unexpected turn. The little rat princess is forced to flee into the City, where danger is everywhere and alien rats run amok. The Dream Thief himself is sent to save her – or to die!
